The Shot of Nature
This is my final art piece for Design Trend. I uses both my photography and illustration skills
and her nature and texture skills, I did this illustration.
This illustration shows a full bloom flower in the natural environment.
I uses colour as the main focus of the picture. Red stands out among the whole picture.
Depth of field is another option that i use, but following the photo, I blur the background of the illustration to give me a depth of field look.
My illustration was all traced out using the pen tools and adding colours in photoshop.
For her style, I uses nature as her concept and giving it texture to the picture.
Development
As I like to take photos, I went out to botanic gardens and shoot. This is one of the photo that I shot. I decided to use this photo and make an illustration out of it.
as it have colours, the depth of feel and we can see the texture of the background too.
This is the first draft that i did but was rejected by my lecture as he explain that it does not really look like my style. The stroke lines and tracing of the pictures are all different from my other illustration style.
I realise my mistake and came up with the final.
Other Photos
These are some of the photos I took during my Botanic Garden trip. I did not choose them because they do not really stand out of their picture and there are not much focus in some of the photos.
These 2 photos plus the final piece are the 3 photos I had chosen out of all the photos I took during my trip.
Reasons why i choose that picture for my final are the flower of the picture stands out from the 3 photos. The red colour clearly catch our attention and the background of it give us a lively look.
These 2 picture also catch our attention but they do not shine as bright as the final photo. That the reasons why i chosen the red flower over these 2 pictures.

Her Style
In her vibrant artwork, Yoju takes familiar, everyday objects and makes them richer and more vibrant; larger than life.

"My inspiration stems primarily from my practice of the Buddhist philosophy. I like to chant the sutra 'Hannya—shingyo,'
which deals with the wisdom of living from day to day. Through this I learn to think freely and not be constrained by
any particular view or fixed idea. My outlook is always changing and I am ever looking for new things to observe and express."-Yoju
A simple fish, a common apple: each becomes a celebration of form, pattern and color. Strong, graphic lines create a woodcut effect, and striking hues give each work a vivid clarity.

She made a significant shift from oil to her current medium which includes gouache, water soluble pencil and crayon, pastel, China ink, suminagashi (water prints), and collage.
